But right now, the tools we need to stay healthy are inaccessible to all but our nation's most privileged. At-home rapid tests and well-fitting, N95-quality masks are either sold out or too expensive to achieve the levels of uptake and adherence needed to significantly decrease community spread.
That's why public health professionals have teamed up with Marked By COVID to demand a national, coordinated COVID-19 response that includes an ample and continuous supply of free rapid at-home tests and N95-quality masks for all, along with data-driven mask and testing policies to mitigate risk and bolster the effectiveness of current vaccination efforts.
We plan to recruit at least 500 public health professionals and 3,000 members of the public to sign our open letter to White House Covid Response Coordinator Jeffrey Zients.
Marked By COVID is a national, grassroots-powered, non-partisan nonprofit organization that promotes accountability, recognition, justice, and a pandemic-free future by elevating truth and science. Kristin Urquiza co-founded MBC days after her first-generation Mexican-American father, Mark, passed away from the virus.
